Privacy Policy

Last updated — 11 August 2026

This policy explains what happens to your information when you visit pluko.us or buy something from the pluko shop. It covers this website and the checkout at pluko.shop.

The site is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("we", "us"), [MAILING ADDRESS]. For anything in this policy, write to plukomusic@gmail.com.

What we collect

When you order. Your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number if you give one, and what you bought. Payment card details go directly to Shopify's payment processor — they are never sent to us and we never see or store them.

Automatically, when you browse. Your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, which pages you view, and what you click. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies described below.

When you contact us. Whatever you put in your email.

Advertising and the Meta pixel

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, and we use the Meta pixel to measure whether those ads work. It runs on every page of this site.

On pluko.us the pixel records page views, which products you look at, and what you add to your cart. At checkout on pluko.shop, Shopify's Facebook & Instagram integration additionally reports when you begin checkout and when you complete a purchase, including the order value and items.

This data sharing is configured at Meta's "Maximum" setting, which means it uses three mechanisms together:

  • The browser pixel — JavaScript in the page that reports activity to Meta.
  • Advanced matching — your email address and phone number from checkout are hashed and sent to Meta so it can match your purchase to a Facebook or Instagram account.
  • The Conversions API — Shopify's servers send the same purchase information to Meta's servers directly, so it is reported even if the browser pixel is blocked.

Meta uses this to attribute sales to ads, build audiences of people who viewed or bought our products, and show you pluko products you looked at but did not buy. Meta acts as an independent controller of data it receives; its own handling is governed by the Meta Privacy Policy.

How to stop it. You can disconnect this activity from your account through Meta's Off-Facebook Activity settings, adjust your Meta ad preferences, or block the pixel with a browser extension or tracker-blocking browser. Blocking it does not affect your ability to browse or buy.

Who else receives your information

  • Shopify — powers the product catalogue, cart, checkout, payment and order fulfilment. Product and cart data is requested from Shopify as you browse, and checkout happens on Shopify's own pages. See the Shopify Privacy Policy.
  • Meta Platforms — advertising and measurement, as described above.
  • Google Fonts — the site loads typefaces from Google's servers, which means your IP address is disclosed to Google on every page load. See the Google Privacy Policy.
  • YouTube — video thumbnails load from YouTube's servers. A full YouTube player, which sets its own cookies, loads only after you click to play a video.
  • Shipping and fulfilment partners — your delivery address, so your order can reach you.

Links out to ticketing sites, Laylo, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and streaming services take you to services we do not run. Nothing is sent to them unless you click, and their own privacy policies apply once you arrive.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Sharing data with Meta for targeted advertising may count as a "sale" or "sharing" under some US state privacy laws — see your rights below.

Cookies and local storage

The Meta pixel sets cookies (_fbp, and _fbc if you arrived from a Meta ad) to recognise your browser across visits. Shopify sets cookies necessary for the cart and checkout to function, and for fraud prevention.

This site also stores a single value in your browser's local storage, pluko_cart_id, which is the identifier of your shopping cart. It keeps your cart intact between pages and visits. It contains no personal information and you can clear it any time by clearing site data in your browser.

Why we are allowed to use your data

If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, we rely on: performance of a contract to process and ship your order; legitimate interests to keep the site secure and understand how it is used; legal obligation to retain tax and transaction records; and consent for advertising and non-essential cookies, which you may withdraw at any time.

Your rights

UK and EEA. You can request access to your data, correction of anything inaccurate, deletion, restriction of processing, a portable copy, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests — including profiling for direct marketing. You may also complain to your national data protection authority.

California. Under the CCPA/CPRA you can request to know what personal information we have collected, request deletion or correction, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising — which is what the Meta pixel does. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Other US states. Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws have broadly similar rights.

To exercise any of these, email plukomusic@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we will respond within the time your law requires.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept as long as needed to fulfil the order and to meet tax and accounting obligations — generally seven years. Marketing and analytics data is retained according to the settings of the platforms described above; Meta applies its own retention periods to data it receives. Email correspondence is kept until it is no longer useful.

International transfers

We operate from the United States and our providers — Shopify, Meta, Google — process data in the United States and elsewhere. Where data is transferred out of the UK or EEA, those providers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an applicable adequacy decision.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

Orders and payments are handled on Shopify's PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure over encrypted connections. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes will be made obvious on this page.
